Avatars are the images that appear on the left-hand side of your posts, near your username. Essentially there are three ways to get an avatar. They all involve the same page though. To get to it is simple: My Controls->Edit Avatar Settings Once on this page you will notice that there are two headings: Pre-installed avatars and Your image avatars To use a pre-installed avatar, simply use the pulldown menu to select a particular group of images and click on the 'Go' button. All you need to do from here is to select the image you want, and click on the 'Use selected avatar' button. The next step is to click on the 'Update avatar' button and you're done. Loading your own images can be done in two ways: Option 1 Load an image you want on to a free image hosting site and paste the link in the box marked 'Enter a URL to an online avatar image'. Alternatively, you can use any image location from the 'net, but often these images are moved or updated and your avatar will be affected. Once you've put the URL in click on 'Update avatar'. Option 2 Upload directy from your PC using the browse button next to the dialogue box 'Upload a new image from your computer'. Once you have selected your image, click on the 'Update avatar' button. This option is less reliable as you will need to make sure your image matches both the file and image size limitations. |
