Administrator Posts: 16,553 Group: Admin Member #4 Joined: 27 September 2005	What do you do if you need a moderator? Each post in these forums has a 'report' button on the top right. If you find an offensive post or one that you think contravenes the rules here, click on the report button. You will be asked to provide a reason for lodging a complaint. An email will then be sent to the moderator/s of that forum with a link pointing to the specific post. The email will contain information on who has initiated the complaint but will not be made public in any other way. I'm putting this here as we seem to have a number of posters who choose to either complain within the thread or to start threads elsewhere regarding the complaint. There have also been incidents of silence regarding offending posts that are only picked up via mods and Admin scanning all the posts. Help us make this the type of site you want.

Administrator Posts: 16,553 Group: Admin Member #4 Joined: 27 September 2005	In addition to the above, here is further information regarding moderating on this board. All moderators can see IP addresses in the forum they have control over. This enables us to track troublemakers and to, if required, initiated an IP ban. Further, each user has a warning flag against their user ID. Once again these flags are only visible to moderators and Admin. The rule of thumb here is that, if a user recieves an official warning, the warning flag will show a 20% increase and the reason for the warning can be seen by other moderators. After recieving 4 such warnings the moderator will be presented with various post approval or banning options. This does not mean that these actions cannot be taken independently of the process above. Any moderator abusing this system will be quickly found out. So far, we've not had to go through the entire warning process with any users and the only bannings that have taken place were done for security or 'spam' reasons. This post is not intended to tell anyone to behave or else, it's simply here because the past couple of days has seen a large increase in membership unfamiliar with our setup.
