But could you have an AIS squad and another Canberra squad both based from the ACT? I don't think so. |

this wouldnt be the only case of a canberra team in the same comp as AIS canberra based team and it works very well in the WNBL and such with both clubs having a good backing. Canberra has a huge football population especially amongst the junior.. Their is a reason the Kanga cup is held here and not elsewhere in aus. from the get go you would see both clubs with a 5 - 10k membership base. you dont bring them both in at once clearly, but eventually there should be those two clubs thriving side by side. |

i wouldn't do it for a while, but eventually i would like to see a 12 team comp but this has to be done step by step. i would like to see 1 canberra team (they will never have 2) 1 nth QLD team, another NZ team and a team in tasmania (:o) |

yes, it is the largest state in population. i can almost guarantee you they would have alot of support behind them, they were one of the stronger teams of the NSL, plus the wollongong region loves their sports and would certainly get behind the wolves again. i guaratnee you wollongong will have a team in the a-league within the next 10 years. they are the most marketable choice. |

i understand your points but i don't think having 4 teams in nsw is a good thing, we need to stay far away from what the NSL did |

It's looking pretty good... I've just done my standard minimal research. And this article here says, O'Neill initially planned to have only these 8 foundation clubs, for the first 5 seasons... But seems to have changed his mind of late... Two of either, Townsville, Woolongong, or Canberra (the 3 names thrown around this thread already) are could potentially expand the A-League to 10, by 2007/08... http://www.theworldgame.com.au/a-league/in...id=st&cid=73994 Personally i think, thats a little early even.... But 2008/09 would be wonderful... ---------------------------------- T'ville FC - Rocking like a mofo! :yeah: |
