Looks convincing....but I read an article in the paper recently where the journo stated that the rest of that Irish St Leger field would be lucky to win a Moe Cup. Only a few days until we find out just how good he is I spose. |

Yeah I did see that but he did win with ease and was still moving away from them. Extra couple of furlongs here should suit the horse. Not sure if I'll back it myself but I'll have it in my Trifecta. I'll usually box 5 or 6 horses as the pools are so inflated with the mug money and I love it :) I've already got Littorio at 17s/5s so will probably cheer that on.. |

Looks impressive but funnily enough I am going cold on Septimus after watching that. One of the guys in the comments section posted the past few St Ledger wins as: 2001 Vinnie Roe 3 Pat Smullen Dermot Weld Seamus Sheridan 2:58.40 2002 Vinnie Roe 4 Pat Smullen Dermot Weld Seamus Sheridan 2:59.00 2003 Vinnie Roe 5 Pat Smullen Dermot Weld Seamus Sheridan 2:58.90 2004 Vinnie Roe 6 Pat Smullen Dermot Weld Seamus Sheridan 3:03.90 2005 Collier Hill 7 Dean McKeown Alan Swinbank R. Hall & A. Young 3:01.20 2006 Kastoria 5 Michael Kinane John Oxx HH Aga Khan IV 3:01.00 2007 Yeats 6 Kieren Fallon Aidan O'Brien S. Magnier & D. Nagle 3:03.40 2008 Septimus 5 Seamus Heffernan Aidan O'Brien Derrick Smith 3:11.97 So Septimus has the slowest time of all of them and both Yeats and Vinnie Roe have failed in the cup, Vinnie Roe only got close when it was a heavily doctored track and slowed the pace right down. Septimus might find the pace too fast for him I fear. |

I'm always worried about the overseas raiders with all the talk about being the best etc as well...but all the trainers of the other foreign raiders say its the best stayer in Europe. These guys opinions has to have some weight to it... Very interesting about the times though mate. Nice work....I'll have it in my multiples but I won't be backing it straight out. |
