Hey guys, im a BIG Arsenal fan :D

Who are all thos arsenal fans on this site??? :letmesee:

I have made this thread for all those Arsenal fans to talk about arsenal, and for comment and opinions about this 07/08 season

Arsenal have started of great winning the Emirates Cup and Amsterdam Tournament, i think the Van Persie has started off well and i would like to see more from the new players.

Cant wait till the season starts with us playing Fulham, hopefully can get off to a good start this season unlike last season.

GO ARSENAL :yeah:

i think its unfair that people are saying how shocking we are going to go because of one player....when united lost beckham and keane they got over it and kept going weve still got as much talent as anyone in the league and have the best youth the epl has seen in many years

van persie is gona have a huge year so is eboue and clichy and walcott

i love wenger and he is the best manager a team can have but im not a fan of his buying system....i know hes more likely to know what the team needs than i do but i cant help but feel angry when all the top teams are buying players and were sitting there developing.....i really think that one more big purchase would put us in great stead for the season....and i think the playa that would best help us would be quaresma..and we have the fees to buy him

mchphee, you're right in saying that the suggestions of arsenal having a shocking season are overstated, but you still can't underestimate just how valuable henry was. no doubt arsenal have some other world class players, but henry was just a level above the rest. i think arsenal will go well, but don't have much of a chance of winning the league. i think they'll go through a slight rebuilding period.

I think the gunners will actually challenge for the title - with not as much expectation on their shoulders like previous years, they may just slip under the radar for a while and play some good football.

oh dude in know way am i saying its gona be easy getting over henry.....he was the reason is started going for arsenal in 2000 and hes been my favourite playa since then.....he could always get us outta trouble always getting the most important goal or a game winner or to put the game outta reach of the opponent or just rub salt into the wounds

he could make the most brilliant piece of football happen from nothing

ill always love henry hell always have a special place in my heart and ill never forget him but we have to get over him now hes gone forever and as sad as it is im hoping we will never see arsenal and henry in the same stadium again unless hes in a gunners jersey cause as far as im concerned he is the worlds greatest footballer and i dont want my team to go up against him

but i think fabregas is our future and should be our captain i dont care hes only 20 we want a playa who has shown his commitment who is in the middle of the field can marshall his players well demands their respect and has it and will be our captain for a long time not another short term captaincy like it could be with gilberto or gallas

Eduardo look slike a good signing - small but difficult to get off the ball. Bendtner can only progress after his loan spell at Birmingham. Robin van Persie wil be good again as he was last season, hopefully he won't sustain any long term injuries.

Walcott will get some games on the wing. The midfield is already quite strong with Fabregas and Gilberto.

Defence has been woefull and IMO need to step up their game. Wenger has said he will not strengthen this part of the team. Senderos can cost us dearly. Toure and Gallas need to develop their partnership.

We still need a winger to replace Reyes the fairweathered twat.

The only reason they were short term captaincies was the Vieira and Henry left.

Both great players but decided to accept new challenges.

Cesc is too young IMO to have the additional responsibility of captain. Gilberto is the ideal candidate for me. Cesc maybe in the future.

exactly dude and what i said about that before was buying quaresma

dont forget we sold ljunberg aswell he is also a winger and we havent bought anyone to fill them

hleb is shocking hes not gona fill that void we need to sign a gud winger and there isnt a better winger inda world on the market than quaresma and we can afford him but know wenger we dont do anything else to our squad

Van Persie hits back at Ljungberg

Striker Van Persie celebrates his winner against Ajax
Robin van Persie has hit back at former Arsenal team-mate Freddie Ljungberg's criticism of the club.
Ljungberg, who joined West Ham in July, accused the Gunners of lacking ambition for selling Thierry Henry to Barcelona.

However, striker Van Persie told the News of the World: "I was disappointed and a few others were as well.

"If you're coming up with excuses about Thierry's departure and promises from the club it's weak. He had a fantastic period here, so say nice things."

Van Persie added: "Freddie had a fantastic period, he was once the best player in England. If you play nine years at a club like Arsenal you can say some nice words."

Van Persie was carried off after netting a late winner as Arsenal beat hosts Ajax 1-0 to win the Amsterdam Tournament on Saturday.

The Dutchman will be closely monitored ahead of Arsenal's opening Premier League match with Fulham next Sunday following a crunching challenge from his Holland team-mate John Heitinga.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger said: "I was very disappointed by the tackle but he looks all right at the moment."

Meanwhile, Arsenal striker Carlos Vela, 18, is relishing his year-long loan spell at Spanish side Osasuna.

The young Mexican has joined last year's Uefa Cup semi-finalists Vela, having spent last term on loan at second division side Salamanca.

"This level does not frighten me," he said. "I face a new challenge and Osasuna is a good place to show my ability."

Vela seems to be another good young talent. He should qualify for a work permit from next year.
