Watching the 3rd round, leaderboard a little of a surprise. Tiger's Eagle was simply amazing. Excellent golf.

Through 3, leaderboard looks like this

T. Woods -3
L. Westwood -2
R. Mediate -1

D. Tahran +1
G. Ogilvy +1
R. Karlsson +2
M. Jimenez +2
R. Allenby +2
C. Villegas +2
M. Mahan +2

E. Els +3
J. Merrick +3
S. Garcia +3
M. Weir +3

Hard to say what will happen. Normally, I'd say Tiger got a sure win, but he's been having problems with his knee, a first time thing for him (playing through injury).

I'd say the guys +2 and up have the best chance. I bet The Colo would explode if Ogilvy got it.

Hard to see Tiger losing it from here but it would be good to see Ogilvy get up from there.......

tiger wont be winning another major this year.....he wont even be playing golf again this year

TIGER Woods will have surgery on his ailing left knee and miss the rest of the PGA Tour season, the world's No.1 golfer revealed in the wake of his US Open win.

Woods, who underwent surgery on April 15 to remove cartilage from his knee, needs reconstructive Anterior Cruciate Ligament surgery and additional time to rehabilitate a double stress fracture in his tibia. :o

Woods grimaced and winced through 91 holes in order to win his third US Open earlier in the week.

“I know much was made of my knee throughout the last week, and it was important to me that I disclose my condition publicly at an appropriate time,'' Woods said on his website.

“Now, it is clear that the right thing to do is to listen to my doctors, follow through with this surgery and focus my attention on rehabilitating my knee.''

Woods revealed additional, telling details about the further extent of his injury, including the rupturing of his ACL in 2007 following the Open Championship as he was running at his home in Windermere, Fla.

Playing through the pain, Woods won eight of his next nine events, including one on the European Tour, before finishing second at the US Masters in April. Repairing the cartilage damage, which occurred as a result of the ACL, was a stalling method in order to play through the rest of the season. :worship:

“My rehabilitation schedule after the arthroscopic surgery was designed with the goal of returning to play at the Memorial (in late May), but the stress fractures that were discovered just prior to the tournament unfortunately prevented me from participating and had a huge impact on the timing for my return,'' Woods said.

“I was determined, though, to do everything and anything in my power to play at the US Open at Torrey Pines, which is a course that is so close to where I grew up and holds so many special memories for me. Although I will miss the rest of the 2008 season, I'm thrilled with the fact that last week was such a special tournament.''

PGA Tour spokesman Ty Votaw said the Tour would release a statement later in the day.

The Orlando Sentinel left a message for Hank Haney, Woods's swing coach who seemed dumbfounded that Woods won the Open his 14th career major under such adversarial circumstances.

Haney said after Woods's win that his top client barely could hit 40 to 50 balls on the range.

Since the surgery, Woods hadn't bent over to read a putt until last week.

Woods dodged the depth of his knee problems for most of the week, resorting to vague descriptions such as “it's a little sore'' or that he would “suck it up'' and play.

After the win, however, Woods said it's possible he worsened the knee by playing on it after doctors warned him.

He played only seven tournaments this year and won five of them. He will miss a major championship for the first time in his career - next month's British Open - and will not be available for the Ryder Cup in September.

"Tiger is an enormous attraction, there's no denying that," Peter Dawson, chief executive of the Royal & Ancient, said.

"But The Open championship has had many exciting finishes which Tiger has not been part of, and I'm sure there'll be more.

"It's very sad. We're very sorry that he's succumbed to the injury and that he won't be competing in the Open. We hope he has the speediest possible recovery. We understand the most important thing is that he has to get his health right first."

This will be Woods's fourth surgery on a knee that could cast a dark cloud over his chase to surpass Jack Nicklaus's record of 18 major championships.

“I will be as dedicated to rehabilitating my knee as I am in all other aspects of my career,'' Woods said.
