Winning is the most important thing in my life, after breathing. Breathing first, winning next.

Danny Green expects to fight Anthony Mundine again within 12 months after announcing his return to professional boxing on Tuesday.

Green, 35, retired from the ring last March but has been weighing up a return since Mundine's camp offered him a multi-million dollar purse for a re-match.

Green said the fight would have to be held in Perth and at light heavyweight.

In 2006, Mundine won the first encounter between the pair in a unanimous points decision in front of 30,000 fans at Sydney Football Stadium.

Green, who relinquished the WBA light heavyweight world title he earned when he defeated Croatia's Stipe Drews last year, plans to take at least one, and as many as three, lead-up bouts before taking on Mundine.

Obviously the $$$ is too be true :nono:

Never said Green was anything special.

Mundine claims himself to be the man yet won't test himself against better opponents.

As much as anyone I wish he'd get a marquee fight in the US, but find me one time when he has had a genuine offer or opportunity for an overseas fight of any note outside of Ottke?

But Mundine never chases them either........just happy to use his profile to fight over matched opponents and collect the big pay days. Just don't claim to be as great as he does.

Mundine has plenty of talent there is no doubting that but sooner or later to see how good he really is or can be, sooner or later he will have to be taken out of his comfort zone.

I don't agree with that entirely. He does fight overmatched opponents a lot, but I don't think he goes looking for them per se. The opportunities seem to come up and he invariably says yes because the latest no-hoper has opened their mouth and told the world that they will smash him.

True - but one of those fights it was fair to say he was winning before the Mundine glass jaw kicked into existance, another one saw him fight like an idiot when he clearly could have done a lot better, and the third saw him take it right up to a f*cking top-notch fighter in what i still reckon was his best display.

Deadset.

Many people comment on Mundine building his fighting profile by bashing weaker opponents, however he fought most of the big names in his division. Ottke, Kessler. The real Australian pretender of the division was Soloman, has anyone taken a look at his record? Makes Mundine look like a big-name hunter, and Soloman was ranked number 3 in the WBA at one point, which is a God-damn embarrassment.

Green will be beaten again if he takes Mundine on.

That's 2 fighters(as opposed to most of the gbig names in the division).

He lost to both.

Soliman is a middleweight.
