Nathan Merritt was pretty cheap at $150,000 too. Willie Isa is about $80,000, could be another in the Idris category. |

Maybe his name isn't even Willie - I don't know, but he turned in a big game for Melbourne in their most recent trial and is being touted to fill Folau's role in the centres. Will probably go arse up of course but at $80,000 I wasn't going to pass it up. |

Yeah I took that into account but one injury in the back five and he's a likely candidate, plus the fact that you can leave three guys out of your side anyway so you aren't necessarily going to lose points when he isn't there. |

Was concious not to pick guys who may struggle to get a run in their own side. I think Sika Manu was a good buy due to crocker & smith leaving. Inglis & Chambers in the centres may block this guy's path. Maybe a good buy for 80 though. Did you have any trouble staying under the cap. Joey Johns article reckons he did, I just can't see how. |

I do the same thing every time I pick a fantasy side in the possies where you can get 7 or 8 guys (back row, centre/wing) and pick two or three absolute nuffies who won't stand a chance of getting a run, just to conserve some extra cash. I had to do what you did and go back in and spend an extra $150,000 or so. I also try and pick guys from teams likely to win, who might be a little cheaper than better players but who play for shit teams. |
