is it really a 2 horse race? the blue-diamond was meant to be a 2 horse race and moody's horse blew them away.

magic millions winner phelan ready ran a cracking race on the worst part of the track on saturday.

I backed Melito on Saturday and even though it was soundly beaten by More Joyous, I still reckon its in with a great shot in the Slipper.

I've liked Real Saga for a while and with Olly on board I think it will be too strong.

Given that More Joyous is a Waterhouse horse I'm hoping the public back it and pushes Real Saga out a little. The wet track has opened it right up and I might have to look at some of the horses breeding and see if any have a history of mud larks.

Viewed looks a good one as well.

The best mudlark through the bloodlines in my opinion is MARAUDING
# 10 MELITO is out of a Maruading Mare in Cloister also she is by Redoute's Choice who has thrown some pretty handy wet trackers currently $21, she is fantastic value
she ran 2nd beaten a length in slow going at her first start in the widden stakes
last start she ran 2nd behind the fav for this race MORE JOYOUS beaten only 2 lengths and really fought hard to the line and in between those runs she won the silver slipper stakes easily
the wet track suits her both on form and breeding so she is a cracker of a bet for mine at 20's
also noteworthy is that dan nikolic has ridden her at all her 3 starts, which is another plus

I might have something on it now.

I've had a sly $10 E/W on Melito @ $21 and $5.57.

I backed it at 26's.....its got the blinkers on which will help IMO...its last start was a good run and probably shouldn't have lost by the margin it did but it lost a bit of concentration with about 200m to go and veered out.

I also like Manhattan Rain and backed it at 11's.

I really liked Forensics in the QOTT but she's a bit of a duffer in rain affected going (anything worse than dead/slow)....I've backed Neroli e/w at 14's as she doesn't mind the sting out and was held up last run.
