That time of the month, eh?

Is any further evidence required to support the popular belief that Hawthorn simply "pinched" a flag last year, and that they are far from being a powerhouse side?
Good luck to them for winning the flag, but the suggestions that they would continue as a dominant force are proving to be grossly incorrect.
Given a full list to pick from (aside from retirements, they had close to 80% of the Premiership on the track last night) and a reversal of from from some key players, they might make the 8...and could still give it a shake. But I doubt it.
Today's game should be the defining moment in the season to date. Cats, Saints and Dogs are streets ahead of anyone else right now.

If we lose today we don't deserve to make the finals.

There were 15 of the GF side out there last night (that makes about 68%) - Croad, Dew, Renouf, Rioli, Williams and Young all out (the AA defender plus 3 key forwards), Crawford the only retirement, and in were Dowler, Kennedy, McGlynn, Murphy, Shiels, Stokes and Taylor...4 of them are first year players...never mind the rest of the team whose combined age adds up to the youngest squad in the comp...yeah, we're struggling, you can't call the performance anything but nasty, but I'll go with my experience of the last 5 seasons, watching them rise from ashes, to say that you'd be mad to write them off in 2010 as non-contenders...Cats supporters should know all about that after 2006...can't explain last night, that was horrible, but we're definitely coming up against opposition who've done their homework...but that's the challenge for 2010, I guess...

http://afl.allthestats.com/statistics/player.php?idno=11395

There is no such thing as playing above yourself. I can name a side who didn't turn up with the right mindset last September though, and good sides make you pay dearly for that...

I'm a little less convinced today we'll make the 8, but I rank us ahead of Carlton, and we just need to stay ahead of Port, who have 3 home games coming up and a good draw...Sydney is the leader of the pack of also-rans...we've got only one away interstate trip left though, against Port...once in though, that's it, we're done...we'll be playing either Brisbane or Adelaide away, I'd say...

I think you saw one of the Grand Finalists last night though, I said that weeks ago...forget today's "Match of the Century"...watch the Dogs in Round 17 and 21 against the Saints and then the Cats... :correct:

Yeah i think Taylor and Harley will rotate on him while Scarlett will get Kozi

Given the build up it'll be a really shit game, poor skill, lots of behinds and a blow out.
