He will have something like 6kg of saddleweights to put on there after he made the weight for the Doncaster - no big deal IMO. I mean obviously it is a big deal in that it splits up a successful combo but no conspiracy or anything like that article is trying to make out.

LMFAO at comparing he and Target to Pike and Phar Lap.

That's like comparing Wally Lewis and Brett Horsnell because they both played for Gold Coast.

Ford was dumped obviously for issues off the track considering the last 2 times Takover Target raced it won both.

The comparison isn't bad as you make out when Takeover Target has Group 1's won in Australia, England, Singapore, and Japan. Doesn't get the publicity due to being a sprinter and not a Cup horse.

Phar Lap's strike rate was nearly 75% - over 80 if you go from when he enjoyed his first win.
TT's is just over 50, and there is no way he's been handicapped like Phar Lap was.

I don't see why there has to be a big conspiracy as to why Ford was dumped - he would have had to add 6 or 7kg of dead-weight to the saddle - what's the problem with giving him a spell while he's so far under the weight?

I'm not saying Takeover Target is great as Phar Lap. But your going over board with the Horsnell/Lewis comparison with with Takeover Targets record.

Look, he's a good horse, no doubt about it - a great horse, but for them to beat up the fact that the trainer simply didn't want 6kg of dead weight and compare it to Jim Pike being 'dumped' from Phar Lap is pretty ridiculous.
