So Pontiac has been put on the scrap heap... which ends the exported VE Commodore as a Pontiac G8 Now this is bad and good. pontiac admitted they didn't have the funds to market the G8 appropriately, which limited its sales success, but Holden is now looking to re-release the car as a Chev like they do in the middle east. Also there is talk the VE could become Americas next Police car, now that Ford America has stopped producing the Crown. American Police need large, rear wheel drive V8 cars, and now only the Chrysler and Commodore fit the bill. Would be a good contract if they can get it. |
