Nick Riewoldt has re-signed with St. Kilda until the end of the 2013 Season, effectively seeing out his playing career as a Saint!

I wonder if the Gold Coast ever really expected to get him?

The last thing GC wanted was for St. Kilda to be where they are right now with him having a good year himself. If they had a poor year then there may have been a slight chance of obtaining Riewoldt but it isn't going to happen.

definetly not going to happen now. But the GC recruiting staff thought he was a lot more then a 'slight chance' he was a major target and they were very confident of pulling it off.
