...that the B & I Lions are touring the Republic. Been caught up in the S14 final hype, Scotland 7s & all the talk about the Tri-Nations (thanks Macka) that I was unaware of the Lions tour until I got an email from a Pommy friend if I will be watching. Also been busy arranging my tickets for the Pacific Nations Cup (all games will be played in Fiji except for two). Just shows how much those c'unts up North mean to us. :up yours: Edited by Juggernaut, Jun 11 2009, 12:43 AM.

That is the biggest danger to the Boks this year. Injuries in that series. A couple of big names go out and then the AB's should get the choccies over there. Time will tell but as I said in the other thread, a full strength Boks is just about a cert to win in South Africa. |

Cheetahs coach Naka Drotske has warned the Boks to watch out for Andy Sheridan after he watched him (Sheridan) annihilated his initial tighthead choice for 48 minutes, then did the same - if not worse - to the replacement. Captain John Smit has been confirmed for the tighthead role for this series and has played there in the past. Deon Carstens has a fair bit of experience there as well. But there is nobody who might strike fear into the opposition like, say, Andrew Sheridan, who is Drotske's choice to exploit the weakness. "Sheridan's scrummaging sets him apart," said Drotske after the match on Saturday. "He's shown that when he's good, he's really good. He can destroy any tighthead, which is why I said before the game that he and Tony Woodcock, scrum-wise, are the best looseheads in the world. Edited by Juggernaut, Jun 9 2009, 02:05 AM.

Back In Black

The Lions will be missing James Hook and Euan Murray through injuries. It'll be interesting to see how they take on the South Africans at the breakdown since they are without Schalk Burger. I'd have them lining up like this: Lee Byrne, Tommy Bowe, Brian O'Driscoll, Jamie Roberts, Ugo Monye; Ronan O'Gara, Mike Phillips; Jamie Heaslip, David Wallace, Stephen Ferris, Paul O'Connell (capt), Nathan Hines, Adam Jones, Matthew Rees, Andrew Sheridan. Bench: Lee Mears, Phil Vickery, Alun-Wyn Jones, Martyn Williams, Shane Williams, Stephen Jones, Luke Fitzgerald. |

Heinrich Brüssow is just as devastating, if not, better than Burger. (Im my opinion anyway). The guy is a freak at the breakdown. He was the one player singled out by most of the Lions players & management after the Lions vs Cheetahs game a few weeks back. He will surely be closely watched by the Lions forwards this weekend. |

So glad he got the call up after Burger got injured. As much as I love Burger he not the same after his injury! He got trough the WC but I don't think he the player he used to be. Brussow is gonna be one of the best. He reads the ref (just like McCaw) and steals opposition ball at will. After he left the field yesterday - it started to fall apart. But then again our dear coach Piet Helium lost the plot completly with his subs. How do u take of JdV instead of AD. Put in JF that plays the same centre position as AD. Take of our Captain. Take of Bakkies for Bekker - that plays the same game us Matfield. Take of the best guy at the breakdown. ANd then take of FdP for pie-eater (that won the game against u guys last year) Januarie!?And at the same time - move F Stean to centre, Ruan to fullback and Morne Steyn to 10!? For next week - I want Jaqcue Fourie to start ahead of AD Ryan the BOSS Kankowski on the bench ahead of Bekker. The rest of the team can stay just like that. Just that little Januarie - that could not even make the starting 15 for my pathetic Stormers team. But no way they gonna leave him out. But maybe just rather leave him - cause if he is out - he will maybe give Pearl Rose a start! Edited by Proudly_SAfrica, Jun 21 2009, 05:49 PM.

Just like most Boks fan, I was surprised when the coach picked Januarie ahead of Kockott. It nearly fell apart for him on Saturday when the Lions clawed their way back in the last 10mins. |

Reports after the 2nd Test.
Typical report after a Boks game, and to prove just how typical it is:
By the way; Boks 28 - Lions 25 |
