Former League Internationals Alipate Tani & Waisale Suka have both made the starting XV. They were both stars for the Fiji Bati in last years RLWC.

Fiji is out to end the 3-year losing streak to Tonga. They lost 23-24 in 2006 in Gosford, 15-21 in 2007 in Lautoka and 16-27 in Nuku'alofa last year.

They have not won in Tonga since 2004, when it beat the hosts 27-26.
