After watching my first tour last year I'm pretty pumped for this one, having a bit more knowledge of it. Thoughts on Armstrong? I don't think he can do it, had a shitty lead up. Not too sure about Cadel either. Menchov ftw.

Armstrong will probably be up there in the small and medium mountains but i dont think he'll have the legs for the big mountains and will probably just be used to help Contador

I really hope Rogers has a good tour but i reckon his team will be too preoccupied with helping Cavendish

I cant believe Gerrans' team didnt put him in the squad :nono:

Leaving out Gerrans = fail.

You'd be surprised Pup, Armstrong never had great results going into past Tours either but his training was so fine-tuned that he burned them regardless. But I also agree with Hugio to some extent in that Contador will be their first priority.

Evans has an improved team this year, Lloyd will help him better than most of the gymps he had last year. Rogers doesn't seem like the kind of rider who needs a hell of a lot of help so that might not hurt him too much. Cavendish has established a great partnership with BATHURST'S VERY OWN Mark Renshaw (good name dropping hey) and as such may not need as many guys dedicated to helping him this year.

I'd like Menchov to win (or Evans obviously) but I think Andy Schleck could be the guy to watch out for.

Saw a report on Armstrong and the tour the other day on Sportscenter. While the US would be pro Armstrong they said Contador is being used to help Armstrong not the other way around. Plus i doubt Armstrongs well known ego would have it any other way.

Cancellara was nuts, how he won by 20 seconds on that stage is crazy.

Menchov just fell in the time trial. Team times become individual times. This could important.

2 tenths of a second behind the yellow jersey lol.

Evans will not win a tour unless he gets some better riders, what a bunch of soft cvnts, he carried them.

F*ck you Armstrong you c*nt, and f*ck you Astana you pack of c*nts. Four f*cking Tour podium finishers in their squad. Evans has f*cking Yaraslav Popyvich.

Get a new team Evans or you will never win a chook raffle. Tragic that before even seeing a slight incline, his tour is virtually done and dusted.

Not a hell of a lot, I always was a Jan Ullrich fan back in the day and it just pissed me off that if it wasn't for the freak in front of him he would have won a swag of Tours, but I had nothing against Armstrong as such.

Now though I kind of do - I actually feel very sorry for Alberto Contador. He has won a tour in his own right, earned his way to the top and had earned the right to be the main man for his team, and on a whim Armstrong comes back and, without saying it explicitly, seems to expect to be treated like the head of the team, the main man. I don't agree with that.

Armstrong is putting it out there to Contador he is the leader by putting himself up in lead. It forces the teams hand to protect Armstong and not Contador. His ego would never let him just be a domestique.

Exactly, and that's what is shitting me to some extent. I realise egos play a part in every sport, but someone who just refuses outright to do what he really should be doing because he thinks he is the shit, pisses me off no end.

Realistically he should be fourth in line - Kloden has been there and thereabouts for 6 years, and Leipheimer is a recent podium finisher as well. if he wants to win that badly, he should be doing what Ullrich used to do for Bjarne Riis - help him first and foremost, doing as much as you can for him before seeking permission from your team to head up the road.
