I'm not sure if we could do it on the pitch though. It does show how strange the FIFA ranking system is. It will serve us well if we remain at that spot come the world cup finals draw.

Best team in Asia, definitely and by a stretch. But better than teams like Portugal, Ghana, Czech Republic to name a few? I'm not buying that. Those teams play way more competitive and tough fixtures than we do. The worst thing we can do now is think this ranking reflects our quality. We've got to now show we deserve this ranking. We don't want to be like the United States that for years have had a world ranking much better than their quality indicates. Only now have they strung results to justify being number 12. Let's beat some top teams in non-friendly matches next year and then let's talk.

We are the best in Asia but if we play Japan or South Korea's best team can you say we'll definitely beat them all the time?
