Wow, a huge turning point based on a few dickheads in the media LB? I thought you would be above that.

I was on my honeymoon for that game, and hated it and remember it to this day vividly. Was on an Island in the whitsundays seemingly with half of NSW. But not for one minute did I blame the refs, we were just not as a good as the opposition in that series.

Not sure why you would let the media dictate terms on any subject these days.
The media here is so extreme it is hard not to rebel, take note, I did not switch to NSW, I just stopped supporting QLD and just watch the game because I love it.

Thats BS LB, try telling my kids (all 4 of whoom are under 13) living in NSW and wearing the QLD jerseys to school on the day of the games. The passion is still there, perhaps as you are getting older it just means something different to you now days.

I agree with the age thing, I think one issue is that I can remember league when every tackle was an opportunity to injure someone, not to wrestle then onto the back to slow the play of the ball. If someone was on their back it meant you could drive a forearm into the face.

Damn...am I that old???

I think fans from both states tend to blame the refs and the rub of the green etc (we see the game through opposite viewpoints). Perhaps this is easier than admitting defeat?

Anyway back to the subject.....State of Origin is here to stay,,,its the showcase of Ausralian Rugby League despite a lack of passion by certain sections of the populous. It has to remain so to give our payers something to aspire to above the weekly grind of club football..

To keep it up there we have to remove this doubt about certain players elegibility..Like Inglis..he is from NSW .. lived there for what..17 years or something so he should be playing for NSW...just as Negas and Rogers should have played for Qld.

Has anyone got any other suggestions ..?
