Some news from the Mundine Undercard. Carl Webb lost in his pro debut Garth Wood wins contender (should never have got this far with that cut) Mundine yet to fight. |

Winning is the most important thing in my life, after breathing. Breathing first, winning next.

I highly doubt it'll happen. The fight is a "proposed" fight, it's not guarenteed even if the Contender has claimed it so to be. Let's remember, Mundine whilst he won't admit it, has been upstaged by the Roy Jones/Danny Green fight. He never expected Green to beat Jones and whilst that fight went ahead, he was already legally locked in to fight Medley. He'll want to do something BIG next time he heads into the ring. Whilst we all know he's more interested in his fox sports/main event contractual money purse, he's a good 1 fight away from a big purse in america (that's why he's collecting belts) and I can see him looking to out do the Green/Jones fight. Fox 8 has paid him for his services, you can see by Wood's reaction tonight after the fight, he even looks like he doesnt expect the fight. I mean honestly, Mundine vs Wood? Wood hasnt got enough of a drawing name nor does he have a championship that Medley and Geale had. Why would people want to spend 50 bucks on a fight that has Mundine vs some no name for nothing but bragging rights? This fight won't go ahead because no one will buy it. The entire Contender series was a flop, and no one knows who Garth Wood is outside of Rugby League and a few boxing diehard fans. Wood will go back and fight on Jamie Myer/Jeff Fenech promoted fights. |

I was very interested to see how this series played out as i thought it could be a real shot in the arm for aussie boxing. As it turned out the series turned into bit of a farce with judging decisions and how some fights continued on with boxers cuts as you said. None of the boxers in show should or would never get near Mundine if they got in the ring with them as they are pretty much nothing more than journeymen. The US contender series has shown that up too as previous winners haven't gone onto much. Btw mate an update on Mundine fight.....he put away Medley? |

I havent got the fight, won't waste my money on Mundine fights unless it's against quality opposition. A mate of mine is at the pub watching it so I've been getting text feedback. No word yet, so I'd assume the fight is still going. Webb apparently lost through unanimous decision. |

Actually no wait, apologies. Ref stopped it in the Webb fight. Dunno why, that's all I got in the text. |

Hmmm maybe Mundine didn't handle the weight cut too well |

Into round 10, looks like it's going to a decision. Medley is apparently putting up a real good fight. Though from what I saw of the Geale fight (and I believe Geale won), a decision against Mundine ON a Mundine program just won't work. Medley needs to do more than "put up a good fight" |

Fights over, going to the judges scoreboard (decision pending) Mundine apparently goofing around in the final seconds of the fight. Apparently Mundine won the last two rounds convincing, which doesnt look good for Medley. |

Unanimous decision. Judges scored it 117-113, 117/115, 117-112 Mundine wins. |
